San Francisco is served by three major airports:

San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

Oakland International Airport (OAK)

San Jose International Airport (SJC)

San Francisco and Oakland airports are the closest to the city and offer the most convenient transit options. San Jose is about an hour south by either car or CalTrain commuter rail.

Public transportation in San Francisco is excellent. You can get around easily by subway (BART), trolley, bus, or cable car. It's also a great walking city. And you can always grab a cab.
